Summary

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Survey Manager to join the InfraMap team! The Survey Manager is a professional licensed surveyor responsible for overseeing a site and directing crews on survey tasks associated with engineering and construction projects. Additional duties include preparing proposals, contracts, and reports; consulting with clients; preparing right-of-way plans; performing field work; and drawing/drafting maps. The survey manager will be responsible for conducting field surveys and recording data of marked utilities after they have been located using various electronic tools. They will also be cross trained in utility locating consisting of marking surface, subsurface, and aerial utilities including gas, water, sewer, phone, power and CATV lines. Monday – Friday travel is required depending on where the work is located.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: work both independently and with InfraMap business development team to identify new opportunities including project detection and teaming opportunities, develop clients, attend conferences, etc.
  • Maintain positive relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Contribute to proposal development.
  • Give presentations to clients, potential clients or at professional events.
  • Project Management: manage and oversee field operations including scheduling and project management for regional projects.
  • Create, track and update project schedules and budgets as needed.
  • QA/QC review
  • Solicit utility records and utility coordination.
  • Communication among field staff, clients, DOTs, subconsultants, management, etc.
  • Assist in field activities including survey, training, and supervision.
  • Conduct/assist in regional staff training.
  • Prepare project specific proposals and cost estimating.
  • Prepare direct labor and unit price invoicing and maintain office profit margin.
  • Participate in professional associations (local/national) including MDPLS, ASHE, ASCE, UESI, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

General

  • 5+ years’ experience in SUE, civil engineering, land surveying, or related field
  • Proficiency in the CI/ASCE 38-02 Standard/willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and understand maps, records, and prints.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PDF editor
  • Must have good communication skills (verbal and written), attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to read and understand maps, records, and prints.

Physical

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds. (if/when in field)
  • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. (if/when in field)
  • Must have the ability to see and respond to external influences, including hazardous environments. (if/when in field)
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day. (if/when in field)
  • Must have the ability to stand/walk for up to eight hours a day. (if/when in field)
  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas. (if/when in field)

Work Environment

  • Primarily office environment
  • Travel when needed (some overnight)
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions (if/when in field)
  • Must be able to work in a confined space. (if/when in field)

Skills & Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in geomatics, civil engineering or related field.
  • LS/PLS/PSM licensure in Florida
  • At least 5 years’ experience in management/supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and Gantt charts
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a security clearance/background check.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Project Manager certification
  • Advanced knowledge/proficiency of MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Open Roads
  • Advanced Knowledge/proficiency of ArcGIS
  • Existing First-Aid/CPR certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 – $135,000.00 per year
